Project Progress Update

This update is to give you an overview on what has already happened at the Kisarawe School Project and how we plan to continue. For more information on the project, please continue to the project menu.

What has happened

Before 2016

• land has been purchased

2016

• school/campus farm running (cashew nuts, mangoes & vegetables)
• soccer pitch ready
• school administration office and store built
• water well dug
• built office toilets and septic tank
• start of building first classroom till roofing level
• brick making machine & brick making in progress

2017

• school/campus farm running (cashew nuts, mangoes & vegetables)
• first classroom is roofed, floored and doors/windows are fitted
• 2 more classrooms built till roofing level
• security house and store built
• beefarming started
• chicken coop built and keeping chickens
• church and community centre built and in use

2018 first half

• classroom 4 built till roofing level
• student toilets built
• kindergarten first class has started

What has been planned for

2018 second half

• roofing and finishing 2 classrooms
• build 5th classroom
• build septic tank school toilets
• build staff office
• put up a playground for the school
• build chicken-farm
• start vocational training in sewing

2019

• staff housing
• hostel
• more classrooms and roofing

2020

• school kitchen
• solar energy program
• library
• 3 science laboratories
• computer laboratory
